I have a fondness for physical media. With the rate at which companies are switching to subscription-only and stealing previously-bought digital media, it feels like one of the only ways to be sure I own something. It also means I can loan it out to friends, strangers, and anyone else, free of charge, without being labeled a TOS-breaker for password-sharing.
But...I've got a LOT of books piled up on these bookshelves. Here is where I'll be tracking what I'm reading for the first time from my own shelves, conquering them one at a time! May or may not be accompanied by little reviews and thoughts. Sounds more fun to me than goodreads!
SEPT 2025
So far, I've read DANDELION MEDICINE, which I bought earlier this season! I find non-fiction books to be soothing and 'easier' to read, as well as easier to put down when I need to. (As opposed to the trance that a good fiction book can have on my brain!) I liked this, although it was about 1/3 recipes, which are basically just a list of even more things I can loosely plan to do but not follow through on...but the history and info was nice. I've especially started loving dandelions recently, as a 'common' 'weed' that is still beautiful and useful. It feels reassuring.
Book is pictured above, along with a kandi I made about dandelions based on a quote from this book! The kandi reads 'grow without permission'.
